A business visitor is somebody who wants to temporarily come to Canada to grow or invest in a business or to advance their business relationships within Canada.

Types Of Activities

Activities you may conduct as a business visitor include:

• Buying Canadian goods or services for a foreign business or government
• Taking orders for goods or services
  Going to meetings, conferences, conventions, or trade fairs
• Giving after-sales service as part of a warranty or sales agreement
• Being trained by a Canadian parent company that you work for outside of Canada
• Training employees of a Canadian branch of a foreign company
• Being trained by a Canadian company that has sold you equipment or services

How To Show You Are A Business Visitor

To qualify as a business visitor to Canada, you must show that:

• You plan to stay for less than 6 months
  You don’t plan to enter the Canadian labor market
• Your main place of business and source of income and profits is outside of Canada
  You have documents that support your application
• You meet Canada’s basic entry requirements because you
  Have a valid travel document, such as a passport
• Have enough money for your stay and to return home
• Plan to leave Canada at the end of your visit
• Are not a criminal, security, or health risk to Canadians

What You Need To Enter Canada

You need one of the following:

• A visitor visa and an ETA
• Other documents such as a valid United States passport or
• Official proof of status in the U.S. (such as a green card) and a valid passport from your country of nationality

Qualifications Of A Business Visitor

• You plan to stay in Canada for less than six months
• You meet the necessary Canada visitor visa needs and requirements
• Your main business and source of income and profit is out of Canada
• Entering the Canadian labor workforce is not your plan
• You must be capable to provide all the required credentials for the application and to bring along when you come to Canada.

What To Bring With You To Canada

Ensure you have the following credentials when you arrive at the border:

• A passport and a valid visitor visa
• If you need an ETA, you should travel using the similar passport you used in your application.
• If you’re a lawful permanent resident of the US, a valid green card and a valid passport from your country of nationality.
• Support letters from your parent company and an invitation letter from the Canadian host business.
• Other credentials like warranty or service contracts, if relevant to your visit
